Chapter 3 of 6

Spacing and Planning

A calendar beats a marathon session.

5 min read

Space, do not stack

Four twenty-minute sessions across four days beat one eighty-minute session. Same time invested, substantially more retained.

A simple schedule

Review new material the same day, again after two days, again after a week, and once more before the assessment. Four short passes is usually enough.

Protecting the plan

Write sessions into a calendar with a subject and a specific task ("retrieve chapter 3 headings"), not a vague intention ("study biology"). Specific tasks get done.
