For parents & families

You know your child. We help you make sense of the system around them.

Magic Years is a steady, honest partner for families making high-stakes educational decisions — from choosing schools and tutors to responding to a child who is quietly losing confidence.

You may be experiencing

If any of this sounds familiar, you are not alone.

These are the moments that bring people to Magic Years. We start by naming what you are actually up against — not by rushing to prescribe.

You're not sure what your child actually needs

The school says one thing, the tutor another, the internet a third. You need a read you can trust.

Homework has become a battleground

Every evening turns into negotiation, tears, or shutdown — and the learning stops mattering.

Communication with school feels stuck

Emails go unanswered, meetings feel scripted, and you're not sure whether you're being heard.

You can see confidence slipping

Your child used to try things. Now they hedge, shrink, or refuse — and it's hard to watch.

Tutoring, testing, or intervention — you don't know which

You've been offered assessments, therapies, and programs. You need someone to explain what's actually appropriate.

There are too many resources to choose from

Every platform promises transformation. You need a shortlist you can trust, not another catalog.

What may be causing it

The surface problem is rarely the real problem.

Before we recommend anything, we look underneath the symptom. These are the patterns we most often find.

You're being sold products, not given diagnosis

Most 'advice' families receive is really marketing. Real guidance starts with understanding your specific child.

The child is carrying something no one has named

Anxiety, a learning difference, a friendship rupture, or a mismatched program can all masquerade as 'not trying hard enough.'

School and home are speaking different languages

Without a shared vocabulary for what's happening, both sides retreat and the child sits in the gap.

Decision fatigue is running the family

Big decisions are being made quickly at the end of long days. That is how misaligned choices happen.

Expected outcomes

What good looks like six to twelve months in.

Outcomes are specific to your context, but here are the shifts partners most often report.

  • You have a clear, honest picture of what your child actually needs.
  • Home evenings feel calmer — with fewer battles and clearer expectations.
  • School meetings feel more productive, and you know what to ask.
  • You have a shortlist of trusted people and tools instead of an overwhelming feed.
  • You feel confident making the next big decision, and unhurried in making it.
  • Your child feels more understood — at home and at school.

Frequently asked

Questions people usually ask before starting.

Is this therapy?

No. We are educational advisors and coaches. When therapeutic support is indicated, we help you find and coordinate the right professionals.

Do you work with families outside our region?

Yes. The majority of our family engagements run online worldwide.

How independent is your school advice?

Fully. We do not accept referral fees from schools, universities, tutoring companies, or platforms.

Will you speak to our current school?

Only with your consent, and only in a way that supports — not undermines — your relationship with them.

How long does an engagement usually last?

Advisory engagements often run 6–12 weeks; many families then move to a light retainer for the year.

How is my child involved?

Age-appropriately. Younger children may not meet us at all; older students often join once they are ready.

Have a question that is not here? Bring it to the discovery conversation — that is what it is for.

Begin the conversation

You do not have to figure this out alone.

Book a discovery conversation. We'll listen carefully to what you're seeing, help you name what's really going on, and only recommend something once we're sure it fits.
