Strategic Planning

A three- to five-year strategy people can actually explain and execute — with owners, cadences, and KPIs built in.

The problem it solves

You have vision statements, but no operating plan that a middle leader could act on next Monday.

Why it matters

A strategic plan that lives in a PDF is worse than no plan at all: it drains credibility every time reality contradicts it. Serious strategic planning translates identity and ambition into daily behavior — the roles, routines, and success measures that make the strategy real.

Our approach

We hold both halves of strategy: the intellectual work of clarifying what the institution is for, and the operational work of translating that into an architecture people can execute. Governance, leadership, and middle leaders are all involved — because a strategy no middle leader owns will not survive first contact with the timetable.

What you actually receive.

Every artifact is designed to be used by the people who need it — not to sit in a shared drive.

Three- to five-year strategic plan

A written strategic plan structured around identity, pillars, priorities, KPIs, and implementation architecture.

One-page strategy

A public-facing one-page version, written so a parent, teacher, or trustee can each explain it in their own words.

Deliverable 03

Implementation architecture

A named-owner, named-cadence map of who is accountable for what, when, and how.

Deliverable 04

KPI and dashboard set

A minimum-viable dashboard covering the KPIs the strategy actually depends on.

Communication kit

Board pack, staff launch deck, family message, and FAQ — all aligned to a single narrative.

Sample outputs

Owner-cadence map

A visual matrix pairing every priority with an accountable owner and a review rhythm.

Sample

Board narrative

A short narrative document that connects the plan to the institution's history and next chapter.

Frequently asked

About strategic planning.

Do you facilitate our retreat, or write the plan for us?

Both. We facilitate the retreat, hold the pen on drafts, and iterate with the SLT — but authorship stays with the institution.

Can you work with our existing plan?

Yes. Many engagements start with sharpening an existing plan rather than rewriting one from scratch.

How is the plan protected from drift?

Owners, cadences, and quarterly reviews are built in from day one. We also offer an annual advisory partnership to hold the plan externally.

Do you involve staff in the process?

Yes — through interviews, listening sessions, and structured input at defined moments. Staff should recognize themselves in the finished plan.
